Step #3:

Brainstorm possible trip ideas and draw up three different plans

According to Burnett (2021), research indicates that if you start with three ideas and brainstorm from there, you will end up with richer and more creative solutions. Use the steps below to think of three different versions of your FSA.

Trip #1

This is the version of your FSA as it currently stands, given your mission statement and analysis of gravity problems that must be managed. Remember to add learning objectives as well as activities and excursions.

Trip #2

This second version is your contingency plan. What happens if you are unable to plan a trip to the original location? Where and when will you go instead? What will this alternative FSA look like?

Trip #3

Burnett calls this the “wild card” version FSA. What would your ideal trip look like if you had no time, budget, or scheduling constraints? What would you do if you were given carte blanche by your college?
