Getting Started: Assessing Your Cognitive Load

Some people are better at handling a lot of tasks at once, but all of us have limitations. Planning and executing FSA involves juggling a lot of balls at once. This can cause the same kind of cognitive overload we faced as new teachers when we were trying to just keep our head above water.

This section helps you to assess your cognitive load, learn more about what cognitive load is and why it matters, and find tips and tricks to keep your cognitive load manageable.

Why cognitive load matters ?

Study after study has found that people who are cognitively overwhelmed learn more slowly – or, in some cases, not at all! Keeping your cognitive load manageable will help you make the most of this trip for you and your students and will help you keep your sanity.
