A diverse language learning ecology attends to students’ various cognitive, social, affective, and identity needs. Therefore, it’s unlikely that you’ll find a single best or one-size-fits-all teaching method for FSA. Experienced FSA teachers use a variety of teaching methods during their trip, depending on context and students’ needs. These methods include a combination of whole class direct instruction, small group instruction, tutoring and mentoring, task-based language teaching, and experiential teaching.
